FRIDAY April 10, 2015:
Learn the Keys
to Fight Commercial Audits
Our Expert Auditor Reveals
the Why, What & How
Watch for the Handouts
Recently, we’ve been focusing on commercial payors and their audits and denials, while we all await the return of the RACs, which is delayed but inevitable. Even the enforcement moratorium on the 2 Midnight Rule is still giving us all some breathing room, but will eventually be lifted, unleashing the horrors of the RAC on the provider community. While we wait then, we’ve turned our attention to the perhaps even more difficult commercial audits and denials. This is our third show that provides a good look at how the auditors work and how you can fight them successfully.
For this show, we’ve asked a veteran auditor who has successfully not just reduced, but in fact has eliminated commercial denials – yes, you read that right, eliminated – for a client hospital. Want to know how? Don’t miss the show!
Chris Baggott is the CEO at Medlinks Cost Containment, Inc., and has over 14 years of experience. Chris is a past master at commercial audits, particularly line-item audits. As a result of his past experience with various tracking tools and systems, Chris created his own tool, the Hospital Audit Tracker, which has allowed him and his staff of auditors to greatly improve his results, and of course the results of his clients.
But today, on our show, he’ll be sharing things you can do on your own – things he advises all his clients to do, things that have time and again been proven to readily reduce commercial denials. And these are not only for use when combating commercial audits. Some of this advice will certainly help with you Medicare and Medicaid audits.
Chris will reveal:
- 4 Steps to Improve Your Effectiveness
- 3 Ways to Weaponize Your Audit Policy
- 4 Ways to Correct Your Billing Practices
- 6 Metrics You MUST Track (and you might not now)
