FRIDAY August 7, 2015:
“ICD-10 is a Coding System,
Not a Reimbursement System“
Keys to Know with Eight Weeks to Go
We’ve hit the eight week mark — eight weeks until the ICD-10 coding system is the law of the land. And even with the AMA-CMS compromise in place, everyone must nevertheless begin using only ICD-10 for claims filed as of October 1, 2015. So… time to make sure you are seriously ready.
Maybe you think you are ready. Nevertheless, there’s plenty of research to prove that more eyes, more minds working on a problem delivers a better result than fewer. No, I’m not suggesting that a “committee” is the best way to make decisions, but rather that looking for solutions is done better with a group. (Decisions are another matter, for another day.)

Mike developed the very first complete ICD-10 Compliance Programsm in 2008, and since then has coached well over 300 hospitals and payors on getting ready for ICD-10.
Anyway, this week we’ve invited our friend Mike Magliaro, MBA, MHA, of Magliaro Advisory Services, to come back and coach us on just a part of a recent webinar he gave, sponsored by HFMA, about ICD-10 Fast Track Compliance.
Mike will review and discuss with us the Keys to Successful ICD-10 Compliance Transition at Eight Weeks:
- Know the Context of this change
- What’s the Bottom Line?
- Technology, Distractions & Fighting City Hall
- Consequences, Impacts & the Future
- The AMA-CMS Compromise
- Workflow Choke-Points
