FRIDAY March 18, 2016:
“Got Sepsis?”
(How can you tell?)
Treatment hasn’t changed, but the words sure have.
Sponsored by The Health Law Partners, Medlinks, MAS Coding Solutions
THIS WEEK, we’re going over a truly dangerous issue – both for providers, and especially for patients: Sepsis. More specifically, the definitions recently rewritten by a panel of “experts” in an attempt to improve on the previous two sets of definitions and clinical criteria.
Why do we need new definitions and criteria identified? Well, partly because the last set was rather limited, and partly because both deaths from and cases of Sepsis have grown tremendously in the past few years. Alarmingly so, in fact.

Dr. Pahuja has been speaking and helping hospitals teach physician documentation for several years, at his company Aerolib.
We’ve invited Dr. Deepak Pahuja of Aerolib Healthcare Solutions to join us, as he is both an experienced instructor and a Hospitalist, who can share with us his experiences and concerns with how Sepsis is being handled.
In our show, we will go over:
- A brief look at the 5,000 year history of Sepsis
- What’s different in the latest “Consensus” Definitions & Criteria
- What you might need to do to accommodate these changes
So join us, share your own insights and bring your questions for us!
