FRIDAY August 5, 2016:
“FY2017 IPPS Final Rule & the New Moon“
…Let’s hope CMS is as good as NASA was…
Even Humana is trying to
teach you a new way to walk…
Sponsored by The Health Law Partners, MAS Coding Solutions
THIS WEEK, we cover several topics, and have Dr. Roy Baker with us from Self Regional Healthcare, a hospital in South Carolina. Recently, many changes have been initiated by CMS, and then we heard of a big change at Humana: Dr. Baker told us about how they have formed a Complaint Department to deal with all the erroneous denials in their Medicare Advantage program caused by their Program Payment Integrity department. So, we asked Dr. Baker to come talk about how this is working for his hospital.
This week also saw another draft of the MOON form, which we will review and then have Sharon talk about some practical things you might need to do to handle these troublesome forms.
So, we will be discussing the following:
- What is this new Complaint Department at Humana for?
- Is Humana doing better now, or not?
- What are the major changes we can see in the IPPS Final Rule?
- Where do I get the new draft of the MOON?
- What should I do with MOON and when?
- What kinds of things should I be watching related to MOON?
So join us, share your own insights and bring your questions for us!
