Sponsored by The Health Law Partners, MAS Coding Solutions

THIS WEEK, we discuss the big move by CMS to so-called “quality-based” payment systems, moving away from the existing Fee-For-Service models. CMS certainly is moving fast, pushed along by the Medicare Access & CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015, otherwise known as MACRA.

Co-host Sharon Easterling will educate us all on the basis of the programs, including a brief review of MACRA, especially the Merit-based Incentive Program (MIPS), and the MACRA Alternate Payment Models (APMS).

Sharon prepared a great PowerPoint deck, which she includes as a separate handout, but it’s just too much to cover the whole thing in our time! Anyway, if you’d like to use the deck, just contact her by email, via sharon @ recoveryanalyticsllc.com (remove the spaces if you send an email!)

So, JOIN US when we will be discussing the following:

  • Background on CMS’ focus on Quality;
  • What is MACRA and the VBID Initiative;
  • What are the multiple payment models available.

(Don’t forget to download Sharon’s complete deck, which we cannot cover!)
